Te Reo Māori Intermediate with Kaiwai Rhind
An 8 week course
Tuesdays 4pm – 6pm
7 October to 25 November
The Intermediate class will develop oral confidence in Te Reo Māori. It will extend kōrerorero and conversational Te Reo Māori, mihimihi, as well as reading Kaupapa Māori literature and writing.
The intermediate course will cover the following topics:
- Pronunciation
- Mihimihi, karakia, waiata
- Tikanga
- Vocabulary
- More complex sentence structures and negation
- Listening and understanding pre recorded kōrero
- Kaupapa Māori literature
- Whakapākehātia me whakamāoritia
‘Māori Made Easy 1’ and “Māori Made Easy 2” by Scotty Morrison are a reference for this course.
This course is subsidised by TEC funding for NZ citizens and permanent residents which requires commitment to attend the full course.
