Te Reo Māori Beginners 2 with Kaiwai Rhind

An 8 week course
Thursdays 10am – 12pm
9 October to 27 November

Te Reo Māori Beginners 2 builds on the foundation of Beginner 1 and  is suitable for students who are comfortable with the use of personal pronouns and active sentence structures. There is an emphasis on growing confidence with conversation about everyday topics.

 

 

The foundation learning from the beginners class will be reviewed including:

  • Pronunciation
  • Mihimihi, karakia, and waiata
  • Tikanga
  • Greetings
  • Vocabulary
  • Pronouns
  • Commands
  • Active sentences and tenses
  • Descriptive sentences
  • Negating sentences

Further topics will include:

  • Possession – use of a and o
  • Possessive pronouns
  • Extended sentence structures including:
    • Locative
    • Passive and Stative sentences
    • Agent Emphatic
