A four hour workshop.

Begin your DJ’ing skills with DJ Chikaa. You will learn to DJ using a controller.

You will need to bring along ten tracks which you have downloaded to a USB stick to create your first set with (you will not able to play from Spotify).

Tutor

Chikaa is the moniker of Jodine Stodart. Since starting out as a Radio DJ for a world music show at Melbourne’s PBS FM in 2007, Chikaa has continued her love of world music and electronic fusion, following the emerging South American new wave scene of folktronica and ethnic downtempo music.

One of her highlights was traveling to Chile in 2017 to play two festivals, meeting some of her heroes all in one place at Festival Nomade, a festival located deep in the south of Chile on indigenous land and built from the surrounding native forest.

Always focussed on creating an immersive ride, CHIKAA enjoys co-creating performance layers with her sets. Recent collaborations have involved vocals, live flute and percussion from multi-instrumentalists.

CHIKAA is one of NZ”s regular festival contributors, DJing at Splore, Shipwrecked, Luminate, NZ Spirit’s Resolution, and sometimes abroad in Bali’s Spirit Festival, and Burning Man.
