You’ll come away with two books that can be used as a personal diary, or as an album to house photographs, letters, favourite recipes or other mementos, or given as a gift for someone else to fill.
No previous experience needed. Suitable for ages 14+
Basic materials will be supplied, but to personalise your books, please bring along card (for the cover) and any paper (plain or decorative) for inside pages.

This introductory workshop will show you how to fold paper to create a novel type of handmade book based on the zig zag or accordion fold. We’ll use basic materials along with new and recycled paper and card to create a unique personalised book. This type of book is perfect for creating simple stories through collage, drawings, poetry, photos, or other printed matter.
No previous experience needed. Suitable for ages 14+
Basic materials will be supplied, but to personalise your books, please bring along card (for the cover) and any materials to create the inside of your book e.g. magazines for collaging, decorative papers, photos and artworks to recycle… the possibilities are (nearly) endless!
Monica Peters
Monica has been creating handmade books for over 25 years, mostly from whatever materials available at the time, and often while traveling. As a bona-fide bibliophile, she will show you a range of her own books: travel diaries, botanical forays, and artist’s books, a plethora of slim volumes filled with writing, poetry, photos, printed ephemera, drawings both abstract and realistic.
