The course will explore folk, country, and blues favourites using simple chords and easy-to-follow arrangements.
Along the way, you’ll build confidence in your playing, improve your rhythm and chord changes, and expand your repertoire of songs you can share with others.
The emphasis is on fun, participation, and learning together in a supportive environment. Whether you’re looking to dust off your guitar or add a few new songs to your collection, this class is all about making music and enjoying the experience.

Katy Soljak
Katy Soljak is a New Zealand singer-songwriter, educator, and author whose original songs blend folk, blues, rock, and reggae influences.
With decades of performing and teaching experience in New Zealand and the United States, she is passionate about nurturing creativity, helping others find their voice.
Having taught Music and Drama at Waiheke High School for 8 years, she is looking forward to helping her WAL students improve their guitar skills and enjoy learning some songs to sing with their friends and family.
