Cheryl Lyall

Cheryl comes from a long line of crafters and makers, learning to crochet and thread a needle before she could write. She began knitting at 17 and discovered the art of spinning and weaving at 19. Over the years, Cheryl has developed a diverse skill set, including knitting, spinning, sewing, crochet, eco-dyeing, slow stitching, and Sashiko.

As the convener of the Waiheke Spinners and Weavers and a member of Creative Fibre, Cheryl has shared her passion and expertise with others through teaching across New Zealand. With years of experience leading workshops and classes, she is dedicated to fostering creativity and supporting others in their crafting journeys.

Cheryl’s classes offer a welcoming environment for beginners and experienced crafters alike, drawing on her extensive knowledge of textile arts and her love of passing on skills.
