An introduction to Rongoā: Māori Medicine and Healing.

 

Course Details

This course provides an introduction to Māori medicine and healing concepts and explores the importance of re-connecting to the land.

Learners will spend time getting to know native plants and learning about their uses as well as exploring resources from the sea, weather permitting. There will also be an opportunity over the weekend to taste some native plant remedies.

Please ensure you bring a packed lunch, walking shoes, water bottle and sun protection, as weather permitting, part of this workshop will  be held outdoors.

Tutor

Donna Kerridge (Ngāti Tahinga, Ngāti Mahuta) is the founder and director of Ora New Zealand. She is a rongoā Māori practitioner, trainer and advisor of 20+years to a number of NZ Universities, research, professional and private training organizations and has served on a number of health authority expert advisory groups representing the practice of rongoa.
