About the basics of our Solar System

How our Earth orbits the Sun and how the Moon orbits the Earth

How do Lunar and Solar eclipses occur and how often do these phenomena happen

How to watch Solar Eclipses safely and never hurt your eyes
- Format of the course:
- Theory with demonstrations
- Active learning: students participate in demonstrations
- If the weather allows, we’ll safely look at the un-eclipsed Sun and photograph sunspots with a SeeStarS50 Smart-telescope/camera
Nat Primak is an Astrophysicist who worked in various optical observatories around the world before finding home on Waiheke Island.
After achieving PhD in Physics and Radio-astronomy, Nat works with Kim Wesney and Sarah Morrison Nat at “NightShift – Stargazing Waiheke”, a boutique company providing a range of stargazing experiences on the island together with educational services and one-on-one tutoring.
Nat has experience in teaching Astronomy, Physics, and Mathematics for students of various backgrounds and walks of life. Her teaching style includes theoretical explanations with demonstrations followed by hands-on practice.
